India vs Australia 2020 Highlights
Earlier, after winning the toss, Australia opted to bat. The surface was a batting paradise and Australia cashed in on some poor Indian bowling and fielding as well. They posted a mammoth total of 374/6.
India lost wickets in a heap after starting well but seemed to make a comeback. But it proved to be a false one later on as the hosts took back control and handed the visitors the first defeat in this 3-match ODI series
A comprehensive win for Australia by a handsome margin of 66 runs. Not the start that India would have wanted to the ODI series but now they would look to go back to the drawing board and set things right.
The hosts would have had their hearts in their mouths looking at the way Pandya and Dhawan were batting earlier but they managed to swing it back in their favour in the end.
Hardik Pandya 90 of 76 against Australia in 1st ODI
India’s batting started off as if they were playing a T20 game. They got to 50 even before the end of 6 overs. That is when the Aussies also managed to get their first breakthrough.
Mayank fell, Kohli looked threatening but he too fell after making 21. Two more wickets and it looked like Australia’s match for the taking. But Dhawan and Pandya had other plans.

They played the strokes where needed and otherwise took the task of stabilizing the innings on their shoulders. The duo went strong and put India back on track but both fell in short duration. And India never really recovered from that. Just too much for Jadeja and the bowlers to do, with the bat.
Australia, well they were exceptional with the bat and with the ball as well. Yes, there was a middle phase where the Indian duo of Shikhar and Hardik targeted them. But Australia snared them later and sealed the game in their favour.
James Anderson first fast bowler to take 600 Test wickets
Zampa was the pick among the lot, 4/54 in his 10 overs. Following him was Hazlewood, who got 3 wickets and did the damage early. Cummins was economical in the context of the game but could not get any wickets. Starc and Maxwell were expensive, even though the former got a wicket towards the end.
