Android Phone or Tablet Backup Without Rooting or Unlocking Your Device
There are various method to rooting android device either via rooting or via unlocking the phone. Titanium backup is a nice backup tool for android but requires rooting. In this topic we will cover method of back-up without rooting or unlocking.
But this process requires android device running with Ice-cream sandwich or newer version.
First you have to install Oracle’s Java Development Kit on your PC. We will use adb (Android Debug Bridge) command to backup or restore. Google’s Android SDK will be used forthis process . You can download this kit free.

So Let’s Start
First we have to install Android SDK which you have downloaded. This software is for 32bit systems .But compatible with 64 bit systems. After installation open Android SDK manager from start menu.
Then enable Android SDK Platform-tools checkbox and click on install if it’s not preinstalled. This contains adb. Sometimes you may face error, be sure you have run the program as administrator. After that, open up your android device and enable USB Debugging. All drivers should be installed so that PC can communicate with device. If you don’t have drivers you can also do by Installing the Google USB Driver from the Android SDK Manager. This can found under Extras”.

The path in which you have installed SDK can be found at the top of android SDK manager. Now Navigate to that directory and you will will find adb.exe file in the platform-tools folder. Now hover the cursor over this file and hold Shift and right-click on it, then select Open command window here.
Now test whreather the device communicates or not. Run following command “adb devices”
Now the backup process starts
Run the following command “adb backup”
To store backup file with your desired location run the following command
adb backup -apk -shared -all -f C:\Users\NAME\backup.ab
Where C:\Users\NAME\ is the path of your backup file you can change Like “D:\folder\backup.db”
After running this command you will have to accept the backup on your device. So it’s done. It will take time depending upon your device stored data.
Now, let’s see How to restore backup file.
TO restore run the following command “adb restore C:\Users\NAME\backup.ab”
Replace “C:\Users\NAME\backup.ab” with the location u have stored your backup. Caution! Restoring will erase all the current data and restore to its previous value.
Restoring will aso ask for permission in the device. And if your backup fie is password encrypted put password during restore.
